ADSL Connection issue

Hi All

I am hoping that you can help me with an issue I am experiencing.

I have a Telkom Premium Combo wireless ADSL modem/router which is connected to my desktop. Up until 3 months ago my router was set up in PPPOE routed mode meaning that I entered my ISP u/n and p/w directly into the router interface page. All worked fine and I managed to set up the wireless as well using the WPA-PSK security option (as opposed to WEP). I used to connect via my laptop and user my mobile as well seamlessly.

Then with the advent of Digichilli and Screamer (and their unreliable service) it was too troublesome to switch between my existing Telkom one and the Digichilli one. So I set up my modem/router in bridge mode and then created PPPOE dialup connections - which made it alot easier to switch between the different connections.

The only problem now is that I cannot connect wirelessly to the Internet using my laptop and mobile. Both devices see the ESSID name I have chosen and report the signal as being excellent and I enter the network key I have chosen but they cannot access the internet at all.

Is this due to me changing from having my ISP details entered directly into the router to entering it in windows dial up connection?

Thanks

Yes.

Your router is no longer connecting to the internet itself, it's just playing to other devices who now connect themselves.

You can configure your wireless devices to connect over pppoe-wireless, so that you can then let them establish a pppoe connection themselves.
I have done this, but it requires the use of a pppoe driver that is compatible with the wireless protocol and driver that you are using.

Ok, thanks for the confirmation. I was driving myself crazy trying to sort it out.
Wireless protocol: in my case it must be 802.11b/g
any idea where i can download the pppoe driver?

dont need to download a driver! setup your network IP and default gateway to point to the rooter.
