ADSL Connection

Hi

I just requested MWEB ADSL and am looking for a router for my home.

The MWEB ADSL uses the same line as the phone (RJ11 - small plugs) and the input of the routers that I find in the stores is DSL (RJ45 - bigger plugs). How can I connect a router to that phone line? Do i need any adapter?

Can anyone help?

RJ45 - This is the ethernet port used to connect your computer to the router
RJ11 - ADSL line connector

Normal routers don't have a RJ11 connector, you have to look for an ADSL modem or ADSL router. Ask the shop assistant for a ADSL router which have both RJ45 and RJ11 connectors.

If you have a Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS router, then you'll need to get an ADSL router too, since those routers are broadband routers and NOT ADSL routers! Broadband routers have RJ45 (Ethernet) ports, where as ADSL routers must have at least 1 RJ11 (Telephone) port.
