Hi
I was recently having issues with my internet connection, if I start my PC up I would have to disable and enable the network adapter in device manager before it would pick up the internet connection. The pc is right next to (and connected via ethernet cable) my D-Link DSL-2750U Telkom router which also provides the main connection. I then have a Billion BIPAC 7401 VGP R4 router in my lounge that is connected to the D-Link via ethernet cable and this too seems to have an issue with initial internet connectivity. I have my Xbox 360 connected to the Billion router via ethernet cable but every time I try to connect to the internet it refuses to find a connection, I have to go and test the internet connection and then it work just fine (with some live service issues which may be related to the problem but I'm not sure). It is the same when I connect to wifi, if the connection has not been tested or used by another wired device, it will not work.
I was running a PC with a 5 year old installation of Windows 7 64 Bit so I initially though that my PC connectivity issues were due to a chronic Windows installation. I've now upgraded to a new PC (new mainboard, CPU, RAM, PSU) running windows 8.1 64 bit and still the same issue. I get the feeling that its all linked to the main router somehow.
Has anyone else ever experienced this or is there anyone who knows how to fix this? Its really frustrating and often I don't even try to use wifi because it hardly ever works. Please help!
I've got a 4MB 20Gig capped line from Telkom.
