I was a late ADSL taker, I got ADSL for the first time in November 2009.

My first ADSL bundle was Telkom's Do2 3GB package. For the first few
months 3GB was more than enough, and I had about 500mb's to spare
to download stuff at the end of the month. After a year, it just wasn't
enough, I had to be really careful not to use too much each day.

The increase to 5GB in August 2010 was welcomed, but I still needed
more data. To compensate, I later got a free 1GB Afrihost account,
that way I could use up my 5GB by the 15th, then use up my Local
Only, and would still be able to browse international sites when needed.
But I was still hungry for more data.

In February this year, I took advantage of Incredible Connect's ADSL
Data packages, and through classified ads, I bought a 52GB data package
for R400, and split it over 12-months (4GB/Month)

Shortly after that, the "R1 Steal" promotion from Afrihost came along,
and I was able to increase my free 1GB to a 10GB+1GB Account, so
now I was getting 20GB International + 20GB Local Internet.
Still not enough.

I signed up for a free Cybersmart 1GB account, knowing I'd likely get
banned eventually, but I needed more data.

During the course of the year, I bought more Incredible Connect
Vouchers, and by June, I was getting 30GB a month from them.
So By July when Telkom Temporarily Increased the 5GB Caps to 10GB
I was getting 52GB's per month International + 20GB Local.
Finally, I thought I had enough data. :D

The only problem now was, I no longer wanted to waste my time on
News servers with Local Cap which was heavily shaped during the day.

So, In October, I planned to cancel my Telkom account, as my contract
was over, and they had dropped the data allocation to 8GB + 20GB Local.
I was ready to do it, but their "Cap Broke" and I was able to get 34GB from
them. :D By 11 October, I got capped, and was finally able to cancel them.
But I still had more than enough data to get me through the month and used
a total of 86GB's for the month of October.

Now since I had Cancelled the Telkom Account my Cap came back down to
44GB per month this month, and I've used 42GB's of it already.

Now I'm looking for more super cheap ways to get data, and none seem to
be available. On average, I'm paying R5 per gig, and no ISP offers that, so
now I'm seriously considering uncapped, but I have to wait for my Incredible
Connect vouchers to expire in Feb 2012.

I wish I didn't miss Afrihost's 11-11-11 promo to get 11GB's for R11, but
I suppose you can't win 'em all.

Anyway, so my point is, no matter how much data you have, you always
need more, and more, and more.

For me it's like a drug, just one more hit man :wtf:!

Anyone know where I can get more data @~R5 per Gig,

Or an uncapped ISP, that can guarantee that I'll get at least 60GB per
month on a 384K line for a max R229pm?

I remember when I used to budget 1Gb a month .... now I'm pulling over 100-200 on uncapped a month ... definitely a drug

I used to do 50gb +- per month uncapped. Now I'm at university where they charge 10-20c per mb. So I use +-2gb now per month and almost pay more than I did for the 50gb lol. Potch sucks =/
