ADSL Dead the Whole Day?

Hey, my DSL 384 line with Webafrica's SAIX was completely dead the whole day - from at least noon until just a few minutes ago. It seems to have just fixed itself - I thought it might, considering how often there are problems on Telkom's side.

I'm just curious... Was it just me, or did anyone else have problems?

Webafrica SAIX ADSL - Sandton area.
 
Had the same, not sure how long i was down for but noticed at 5:30 pm when i got home. Just come back 5 mins ago... Thank god, gprs was killing me.
 
Noticed the same problem with a client of mine in Sandton.

IS Uncapped DSL. Sandton.
 
WHAT THE fack!!!!!!!!! i can get on Wrbafricva but not Telkom!!!!! I think im capped???? ive only done 4.4 gigs.....????? im drunk sorry! But is this a big problem nationally or am i capped...cauz my moms gonna K@K me out if we are capped :raintg:
 
My con was fine from about 11am to 9h30 when I disconnected. After that it refused to re-connect until now.

ISP Cybersmart - Witpoortjie Area, westrand

Maybe some work being done on lines?

Where can we get info on SAIX planned maintenance?
 
Was down from about noon as far as I can tell and came back up at between 23:32 and 23:34 (was logging the connection to see when it came back up).
So nearly 12 hours of no ADSL for those of use who weren't logged in when it went down.

The idiots at Telkom support must be poorly informed - I phoned them at about 18:00 to ask them if their was a widespread problem and they said no. :eek:
I mean come on ... probably thousands of ADSL users without access for 6 hours and the call center staff don't know about it yet?
Now I have to "unlog" a fault.

You're probably capped. They do that sometimes when you go over the limit. :p
 
Caný connect this morning at 7:45 - line syncs but cannot get an IP address - using VC now
 
I am getting PAP authentication failed on my telkomsa account, but I am sure I havent used the full shared 3GB cap yet.... using a datapro account now

Yesterday for the same period as you mentioned I couldnt get an IP with either account!

Weird, is Telkom having auth problems?
 
Seems to me that is is the authentication servers that are Telkomed.

If you are connected, you stay connected, but if you need to re-authenticate, it is broken
 
I disconnected at about 14:26 because I was going out and there was thunder about - couldn't re-connect either Telkom Internet or Webafrica until 23:23. Sandton area.
 
TODAY????? i get a 'disconnected' error when trying to dialin.This error happened last time they had issues...i just hope it is there side again.Im gonna cry if i miss out on all those 'end of the month' torrents :p

My Telkom Account cant get in and im now using my Prepaid WA one.So me thinks its a Telkom issue?
 
I was at work yesterday and don't know if my home ADSl was down, but @work it went down a few times. This is in Centurion. I live in Pretoria.
