Hi guys,

We got ADSL at home last November, it worked 100%. At that time my dad had is office at home. Recently my dad moved to another office and the line was moved to that office(We had 3 lines at home untill one was moved to the office), as well as the ADSL. We placed an order for ADSL so that they can come and install it at home again. After several weeks the techie finally pitched and installed the ADSL on the other line (fax line at home). Now I still needed another account from Mweb. We called Mweb to get a new account, but they said that we can use the same account that my dad is using at the office at home (I didnt know that this was possible). So I set up the router (the newer 4-port one from telkom), it didnt seem to work. I called Mweb technical support, while holding for support I pressed the refresh button and it worked! Finally!
After a while of surfing it stopped working, I waited 5 minutes and it was back up again. This continues to happen, even if my dad disconnects at the office (so it cant be because of the account sharing. It is very frustrating, esspecially when I am gaming online. My dad who is using the same account from Mweb is not having any problems.
Could it be my settings that are incorrect or is there something wrong with the line? Help would be appreciated, at the moment this is worse than 56k.

Thanks[:)]

edit: Forgot to mention, when it works the speed is fine, no problem there.

Was the comparison to the 56k modem, used because dialups are also disconnected frequently? if so the problem is probably on the line, otherwise take a look at the time out setting on the router, when it disconnects you do you lose a DSL-LNK light, or anything else happen that you can see on the router that looks odd?

What I actually ment was that this is more frustrating than 56k, I would rather have a slower connection than one that disconnects the whole time. I tryed another router (the old router that worked fine when it was installed at my home), still the same problem occurred so it is probably a faulty line. Will Telkom come and repair it?
