ADSL down (CT)

Just went down about 22.30, and unable to reconnect.

Vredehoek, Cape Town.

Tested on Web Africa and Cybersmart accounts ...nadda :(
 
Stone dead here too (Webafrica), Highlands Estate.
 
Well I've been away for about 2 hours and not had any disconnections in the time that I've been away.
On Cybersmart.
 
There is a fault at the Barrack Street exchange affecting the following ADSL number ranges:

(021) 460
(021) 461
(021) 462
(021) 464
(021) 465

Last entry on the fault at 12:59 says technicians are still busy localising the fault
 
LOL, well I have been off-line since 23:10 Friday up until a few hours ago (Monday afternoon)! I phoned Axxess and they indicated that they were aware of a Telkom reported fault at the Barrack str exchange - ETA was then reported to be +/- 5 hours. Phoned Telkom but wasn't prepared to sit for hours waiting on the line listening to the same stupid "do-be-do-be..." song - so left it until the next day. Eventually got to speak to someone at Telkom who assured me that the fault had been resolved. Phoned Axxess an who indicated that they could see my connection continuously dropping and that there was some form of delay when I restarted the router (probably restarted the poor thing a million times in the last few days). Then a Telkom techie informs me that my router may have been damaged when Barrack str went down and that the only way to test would be to connect to a working ADSL line. But then I pointed out to him that if that were the case how is it that I am able to get onto the Telkom site? I then phoned Cybersmart since they are close to the Barrack str exchange and according to them everything seemed fine. Yesterday was not much better with each conversation with Telkom being more aggravating and fruitless. This morning was also much time spent being wasted on the phone and the last thing being that a technician would be sent out tomorrow (they better not even think about charging a call out fee) - nothing on my side has changed and the fact that I can connect to their site sort of confirms this. But now when I came home the connection seems to be working, so will see what happens tomorrow...

Really a pathetic service Telkom - I mean, almost 3 days!!
