Hi All

Got myself ADSL over the past week.

ISP : MWEB 1MB Uncapped
DSL Line : Telkom

So, long story short.
I had maximum download capabilities of 51kbps when trying to DL a torrent.
Torrent downloader used is Bitlord.

Now I may not be technically inclined as much as you guys BUT I'm sure I'm not meant to be experiencing speeds that low.

I don't know if there are setting which I possibly need to adjust on my Torrent downloader?

Please advise what needs to happen here???

Thanks in advance!

Leave your PC over night to download torrents. During the day torrents are shaped.

^^^ This.

Also, have you tried http dl's to see if you have the same problem ? If not, you're being shaped, but that's not uncommon for torrent downloads during business hours.

You also take into account whether the torrent is well seeded or not.

Also check the stats on your line. High noise and low sync can result in slow speeds.

As Shanezn says, try downloading something directly from the web to see what speeds you reach there.

My lines are slow downloading from newsgroups and torrents are .

Hi All

Thanks so much for the feedback, will take all in and attempt it this evening.
Holding thumbs for better results!

Thanks again:)

Hi Shellyb1

How would I go about checking the noise and sync levels?
