Anyone living in the Red Hill/Durban North area experiencing problems - slow internet etc with ADSL?

Ahhh, yes and this has been getting worse and worse over the past 2 months or so.
My download speeds are ok (54KB on 512k) but browsing sucks big time :(
I fired up a 56k modem recently with a temp account and browsing was a breeze compared to my 512k ADSL which I've had since Aug 2003.
I even struggle like hell to make this post and its nearly midnight - should be a breeze at this time.

ditto. share your pain .. exactly what you say..downloads are going great - but browsing is starting to give me a headache. i am waiting for telkom to get thru all their internal problems - as I don't expect i'll get any joy right now..

I'm in Durban North and have not had any issues. Connected to exchange in Norfolk Place.

Overport also slow

I'm in Overport and my ADSL is also very slow - has been for maybe a month and today it is terrible. Friends all over Dbn and Up the coast to Empangeni and Mtubatuba are complaining.

I'm in Westville & browsing here is horrible. I have to continuously refresh both International & Local pages.

Speed Test timed out on me :(

Heard a rumor today that apparently copper cables at Mount Edgecombe were stolen and are currently being replaced, hence all the Gateway and Umhlanga traffic that normally go via Phoenix have now been routed through LaLucia to Durban North hence the congestion.
Phoenix/Verulem users must be laughing all the way :)
