Heya!

Apparently I need an ADSL filter for my line (it's losing sync and connects at random speeds).

So, question is, where do I get one and what do they cost? :wtf:

Should be able to get one at Incredible Connection, ye?

Yep - Telkom shop...also saw them at Stax...between R35 and R50...buy a spare cos you can.

If you don't have a filter then you will only experience sync and speed problems when people are making voice calls on the line. If you are having issues and no one is making calls then you might have another problem with your line.

Yep filter only filters that Squelchy sound that you would hear while busy on the phone and connecting to the internet at the same time

The PnP close to my home town sold them too.

I use ADSL without filters.
Didn't have filters when the line install happened two months and was going to use it like that till the weekend but haven't had any problems, even when on the phone and surfing and downloading simultaneously.

I'll buy em when it becomes a necessity

Ah, that was what I was afraid of. They keep telling me it's because I don't have a filter, but no one is using the telephone.

Will get the filter and them blow their heads off when I relog the fault...

Thanks for advice!
