ADSL - FTP problems

Hope someone can help.
Since this morning I can’t connect using my FTP client (good old WS_FTP 2006) - but only when using my ADSL line. As soon as I switch over to my 3G connection it connects fine.

Any ideas?
Are the idiots suddenly blocking FTP too?

Try changing the FTP setting from active to passive and vice versa on WS_FTP.

Also try resetting your ADSL router.

i had oodles of problems with FTP over ISDSL - the passive / active thingy above is a good tip - try it, worked for me. I use CuteFTP - full speed since i started using that - it may handle something automagically.

Cool - it took me weeks of pain and suffering to work that out - support calls to "senior" engineers at my ISP etc did not help - found that gem on the PHP.net site while looking for FTP code.....

Because of a setting on your FTP client that prevented you from FTP'ing over ADSL, you say: "Are the idiots suddenly blocking FTP too?" - silly.

I've never had FTP problems on SAIX/IS ADSL. I use FlashFXP and just tested with Active/Passive.

Anybody got an idea how to sort out my traceroute issue - won't traceroute but will ping, ftp etc? Is it a port forwarding issue - or what? Why does a ping go through my router but a traceroute won't?

can you post some specifics? maybe a copy+paste of what happens.

Make sure your firewall/router is not set to block ICMP packets
