Hey all,

I have a 4mb line with telkom and it has been down since the 1st of feb. I have phoned nearly every day following up and i get the same response every time "we are working on it" i got an sms the other day saying that it had been fixed but it hadnt because the dsl light on my router still would not light up, so i had to submit another fault. I actually dont know what to do anymore i havnt even had a chance to use my new router that i bought last month because of my line. Seriously what should i do ive never heard of a fault lasting this long...

You have probably had some cables in your area stolen,
It will take some time for them to replace the cables.

They have to use their "next generation technology" to determine where the cables are missing could take Telkom some time. :)

Just hassle them a lot and eventually it will be replaced

Well considering it been a month...

You need to look for a telkom van parked on the side of the road in your area. You will eventually spot one, and once you do, go up to it and speak to the technician. Your goal will basically be to get the phone number of the person who managers the techie vans. Once you have that, you will have a straight line directly into the heart of the beast. Just be nice, i also got stuck in the infinite loops for a few months and only once i successfully flagged down a van was i able to get somewhere. It took about two weeks of phone calls beyond that, but now my line is finally fixed.

Relying on support tickets will get you nowhere. It took me about 3.5 months to get my line fixed.

That number will get you clear answers, so try get it.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. :D
