I am moving at the end of the month and have ADSL at the moment. The place I am moving to is a Wildlife Estate and they only use microwave dishes for telephone services. What am I going to do????? Its about 4kms from the closest exchange, why cant they install lines?
Is WiMax a possibility once its launced? I will die if I cant have ADSL.....and you would think that moving to a "posh" area they would have something as basic as ADSL.....EISH!!

Sjo, yeah, that's a bad thing about Woodland Hills, eh? (And it's not even got a proper tar road to it-lol), dunno why anyone in Bloem would wanna go and live there :) For that price levy() I'd rather buy myself 2*4MB lines to my house :)

Thanks for the positive feedback Frag....;)

Which area do you live in? Im in LHP and the ADSL is brilliant here! Too bad I have to move, but thats the price I have to pay. Spoke to Telkom yesterday and they said WiMax should be up and running in Bloem end of June. In the mean time I will be on 3G 2gig or something...Eish:(

PS: Whens the last time you went to Woodlands? There is a proper road there now.LOL

Umm Jannie, I'm also from Bloem and live in Universitas Ridge, and my exchange is also located in LHP. Dont know how its possible that you get brilliant DSL there, dont know if you have seen Frag's (he's also in LHP) thread but DSL ping times for me and him have turned sour for online gaming ! anyhow, I haven't even been to Woodland Hills, have heard about it, but quite happy here where I live in good old Bloemies.

Its strange that your ping times are bad....hmmm. I have very good ping times. I spoke to the manager at Woodland Hills and he has confirmed that people there use DSL over the radio frequency dishes?? What is the possibility of that being true??
