Hi All

I have a couple questions regarding bandwidth and using multiple ISP's

Question 1

I have a DO Broadband Option 2, and I want to now is it possible to buy pre-paid local bandwidth from say WebAfrica and to use the local bandwidth from WebAfrica before I touch the bandwidth from the DoBroadband option (I know Telkom will take off your International bandwidhth even if you are surfing locally).

Question 2

Following on from Question 1, how does one log into a different ISP and only use their bandwidth?

Thanks
Stephen

Setup bridge mode on router - create dialup connections and install RASPPPoE with routesentry - this will route local only content to your local only connection and International content to your Telskum account.

If you want to learn, best search this forum for those answers

Thanks - I saw posts about that :)

So cant you just use the login details provided by WebAfrica(The other ISP) And just sign-in to use the local bandwidth. I was planning to use it in one go not to chop and change between local and international bandwidth.

Just put the local username/pass into your router and you're good to go.

Search the forums for RouteSentry

Yeah, much easier. No need for routesentry here.

Agreed.

I couldn't get Routesentry going and I just opted to enter the WA details directly onto the router for local downloads.
When done downloading switched back to my original settings and then use the international bandwidth.

Like now I'm using a Axxess prepaid voucher.
Entered manually and working just fine :)

If you wanna get Route Sentry to work, just PM me. ;)

Dude - I have been down that road - it broke me :o

The hours of pulling my hair out :D
I'm gonna leave it be.

I don't download locally anymore - (the server we do not mention) is too damn slow.

My buddy in London sets up an FTP for us poor bastards over here and I download everything I need from there at full speed.
Although I'm only on 384kbps - its still full speed none the less :p :D

Plus I don't download as much anymore, as I don't really have time to watch all of it :D

Well it's very simple and I know what your problem probably was but anyway as long as you're getting the stuff you want. :D

The offer still stands though if you wanna get Route Sentry working..

I reckon I know what the problem was as well...

The RasPPPOE dialups were done wrong I think - ppl said create both in the app - others said create one in the app and the other as a normal dialup - that got me  and I couldn't back track to where I was - and I surely don't see me going through that frustration again :D :D

But yeah I'm-a getting all I need :D

Thank You everybody for your comments, much appreciated
