Running smooth, no issues. Can get 10Mb from 3Km away.
Heard reports of full DSLAM from another user. The MSAN upgrade is progressing quite speedily, although a cutover date isn't available at the moment.
So far they aren't placing them right next to SDC's, so wether or not being close to one means being close to an MSAN remains to be seen... looking forward to it though!

Hi Jack, I'm in Constantia near the Nek and our exchange seems super congested. we been getting inexplicably high pings for the last year or more, techie confirmed congestion only after much imploring. do you have any more info re the MSAN upgrade? hoping things will change soon!

Hmmm... No unfortunately I can't replicate these symptoms. My ping is always very good (30ms > telkom.co.za).
I have a sneaking suspicion that I was actually moved to another DSLAM with ADSL2+ support. However my distance would make 10Mb impossible. This is a confusing issue.
The MSAN upgrade will likely be a matter of months instead of weeks for full completion. there are two within about 2-3 Km from me, but they have yet to place them next to SDC's. No idea as to when this will happen - they appear to have finished the one on Klein Constantia road and are preparing for the placement of one or two along Constantia main road (moving up the neck).
Look for the orange tape squares and you'll have an idea as to where it's happening. Just saw some now past the bottom of Silverhurst estate, could well be a placement site. I guess they do Main DSLAM, then Local site.

Sorry for double post (can't seem to edit). I do recall someone here saying that an official verified the congestion, but a fix is only coming next year...

Maybe ask if they can move you to the nearest Hout Bay exchange? I think I might be on this one. It is under 2Km away and appears to be getting an MSAN (fiber parts sticking up from a concrete block). When you drive up the main road you will see it on the corner just before the Constantia Mist.
