Hi All

I live in Douglasdale, and pull my phone from the Olivedale Exchange. I appliead for a Telkom ADSL line in January, and have been getting the runaround ever since. First excuse was that there werent enough DSLAMs available, next time I rang they told me there was a problem because we ran a mix of copper and fibre in our area, and the list just goes on and on, with each person I talk to giving me yet another excuse as to why I ve waited almost a year. My first project completion date I was given was June 2007, this was then bumped to 23 August 2007, and now finally, they tell me that its been bumped again to 29 December 2007 ( And this is just an estimate, not even a fixed completion date). Is there anyone else out there who is going through this Hell? Im sick and tired of it, and the people in the call centre cant even put you through to the morons in the Technical Services Dept, as they are not allowed to - what a beautiful screen of incompetence to hide behind. You can do a crappy job, or not even do a job at all, and you get to remain hidden from the irate customer.
I wish I had a job like that. If these guys didnt have the monopoly they do, they would have been out of business ages ago due to sheer lack of service delivery. Ive tried speaking to supervisors to get this sorted, but to no avail. Does anybody out there have any numbers of someone I can pester in the Tech Services Dept?

Thanks
Watties

i had the same problem, i live in douglasdale too. but i kept on complaining to the branches so they finally installed. i had a telephone line in 3 months

Whereabouts in Douglasdale? Im on Hornbill road, and they keep telling me theres nothing they can do...

I keep on getting told that there are available A prts, but Im too faraway for those, and that I can only work off of the B ports, of which there are none available. Go figure...

Do you know the location of the exchange, so that I can go sit there and hurl abuse at them as they come and go. Willing to do this till they hook me up, as its costing me a fortune each month using 3G.

I also have the misfortune of having my phone line attached to the [searchforum]Olivedale exchange[/searchforum] [BTW does anyone know its street address?], and all I can say is that I have had endless problems with my ADSL line - most of them [searchforum]DSLAM port[/searchforum] related - I suspect the techies urinate on the DSLAMs or something.

@Watties, I suggest rather demanding [searchforum]WiMax[/searchforum] instead of ADSL - would like to know what Telkodemonopolies has to say about that request - keeps us informed, and welcome to MyBroadband :).

Thanks man, I tried approaching them about WiMax, but the person I spoke to in the call center didnt know what it was, and when I finally got thru to someone who did, they said it was a closed trial that was by invite only. So I guess they forgot to send us our invites to the party..
