Hi Guys!

Have to post about this again!

So in Lonehill we have MSAN on Crestwood Drive, but unfortunately I'm still not linked to it (about 1km away) because our copper line doesn't link that way! Now Tekom promised all customers to be in 1.5 km range of a MSAN.... By the looks of it the project is done on the Fourways exchange, no more laying cables etc... What happens to us? Do I sit on 63 attenuation for the rest of my life In this house?... I'm really disappointed, even some of the telkom technicians said we would be able to get 40mbs soon (6 months ago?)

What must I do? Complain to Telkom to route us to that MSAN or maybe they should build another MSAN closer!?

They did lay fiber throughout Lonehill so I don't see the issue!

Thanks

Oliver

The project is till 2015, but maybe moan enough and ask tech's nicely who to speak too..

Would be nice, I'm at the top of Lonehill Boulevard.

Another MyBB member ordered another telephone line account to get connected to a newer exchange, maybe you can give that a go and then cancel the old number (if you don't need to keep the number).

@oliver i have also received the same BS response from the technicians what i do is keep opening a fault everytime they close mine that way i hope some one will be paying attention since it affects their stats.

Yeah, this is absolute rubbish... They keep doing the same to me, I think we need to get a large group of people to help out! Maybe we can contact Lonehill Newsletter and they can send it out? That would be really helpful

@Oliver ok got some bad news that box you mentioned on the corner of franshoek is not an MSAN as you mentioned previously in a post. And telkom does not appear to have any plans soon off getting an MSAN to support lonehill that was the response from telkom.

Then what is it? I big fancy white box :o Looks like an MSAN, trust me I'm pretty sure it is an there just lazy asses!

Yeah I know man frustrations - Think you should also pop them an email and see if we get the same excuse. whats even more annoying is that techies come out and say that an msan will be done to support Lonehill then when you get intouch with telkom directly they say None planned anytime soon. This is the email address: [email protected] - use "ATT: MM" in the subject line so that it gets allocated to this person.

I'd have to disagree, I've seen the internals of it while they were putting it in, its definitely an MSAN.

I sent an email, yet still no reply :/ 3 days now..

Telkom has installed an MSAN in my suburb but it appears that it is intended primarily for business customers. The technicians told me that there were no plans to install additional units near the other SDCs for residential customers in the suburb. In any case I doubt that even 10% of the current 10Mbps residential customers would be willing to pay the increased line rental charges.

I would pay anything up to R3500 for 40mbps :D
