ADSL in record time!

I placed the ADSL order last week. This also includes the installation of a phone line as well because I don't have one! Well, they are coming to install tommorow morning! This must be a new record! It would hav been today but i'm not at home.

When I called yesterday I got some snotty reply stating that ADSL takes 3 weeks to install!

Telkom thinks when they deliver a service to us in Pta, it counts as upliftment of the disadvantaged, so we get priority. LOL . On a side note, koosbeer, is your line copper or did they upgrade their hardware (via mini DSLAM, etc) to allow for fibre ? Kilnerpark area, right ?

one word....OUTSOURCE.

Since Telkom outsources installation, there are smaller companies and contractors who compete to supply the service. This seems to work wel for installations in Jo'burg and Pta.

Now if Sentech could outsource their BW management.......

Well, i seem to have spoken to soon! They arrived, only to find that they cannot reach the tower (require keys.) So they said they would come back tommorow (that being yesterday). Wel, needless to say they did not arrive. BASTARDS! I was at home the whole damn day waiting! Gonna call them today and give them some of my sentech experience (yelling at the call centre!)

Luke: I don't know. They just want to run a line from the tower to my house. Thats it. Don't ask me what kind of wire... I dunno! . Actually its the villeria area Used to connect to kilner park tower!
