ADSL in REUNION

Just spoke to my friend in REUNION ,which is in the middle of nowhere of Indian ocean.He just got himself ADSL instaled. 512 kbps with 2gb limti a month.A price is 30 eur a month including line rental and isp.How do they get it so cheap ? they are so far away from everything ,and they are so small,surely the cost of underwater cabel must be so much higher than ours.......OR IT'S JUST TELKOM F*****G WITH US ?

Thats cheaper than us but still not cheap. Point taken though.

Reunion is managed by France..France Telekom runs the show I think so they pay European prices (Except for the cap). Interestingly their bandwith have to travel even further than SA bandwith and they even have less of economies of scale!!!

Reunion doesnt have Lulu, Stevie, Papi and Ivy.
They are expensive to run
