non stop intermittent dsl sync disconnections due to line noise. this has been a problem for the past 1.5 years and Telkom have not been able to fix this problem to date, they tell me I am too far from an exchange that has available ports, so they say
the connection is up most of the time, but fails to reconnect when it does disconnect. takes between 5 to 30 minutes to synchronize

I'm in Stellenberg.

4-10Mb line. I mostly use a 2Mb uncapped Telkom account though. But we have a few disconnects a week. Also battle sometimes to reconnect.

I switch to a Telkom capped account to make full use of the 10mb line speed to watch some streaming sports, because I've noticed that the 2mb is buffering, even when it shouldn't be. Sunday night(11 Aug 2013) I could even stream a 800kbs stream on a 10meg line.

I've started to drain the Telkom connector box, luckily it's on my driveway. Most of the time the cables are under water. I've started designing a fish pond pump setup to drain it automatically...

6pm - 10pm pings get pretty bad.

It's frustrating to deal with the local tech that comes out, because he picks up the phone and says..."hmmm, it sounds ok" *facepalm*
