I moved into a complex in Pretoria a while back and would like to get an ADSL line installed.

Went to the Telkom office in Menlyn to order and they told me it wasn't available in my area. I then spoke to the body corperate of the complex and they say that Telkom can't install lines due to the way that the complex has been built ..... not even normal telephone lines. Something about the pipes that you use to pull the wires through from the ground level being to small.

I really need ADSL, it's the only real alternative if I want to play my online games. I'm not in a good signal area for iBurst and Neotel don't have good latency. Hell, they're only in like two areas anyway.

Is there any way for me to try and put some pressure on Telkom to install an ADSL line? What other options are available to me?

I've seen this happen a couple of times ... you don't really have a foot to stand on ... Telkom won't really care about 30/40 odd houses

toxin move out

you should have checked this before moving in man

if i ever move i will make sure telkom install adsl in that area

seems like your complex's fault and not telkom's

Yeah, seems like an issue with complex itself. Take it up further with the body corporate of with the developers if it is a new development
