ADSL Installation - Quickest way

Hi,

As the sale of our house went through rather quicker than expected, we are moving out to a leased townhouse on Monday. This has all come as a bit of a surprise and now I've been caught a little flat. The townhouse has 2 telkom lines installed, but I need to now try organise ADSL ASAP. The people we are leasing from have no problem with us installing ADSL, so long as we pay.

Just wondering if anyone has any useful information on the quickest way to have ADSL up and running? The other issue I have is that nobody is at home during the day, only after 4pm and on weekends.

Also. are there any ISP's around who I can just "rent" the ADSL portion from, without having to get bundled bandwidth?
 
You cant rent the line portion from axxess at a discount rate AFAIK.
All you have to do is order the dsl with a self install on the existing number. The changes are made in the exchange so you dont have to be around for them to do it. Then you pop on your router and complete the verification and its done.
normally happens in a day or two.
 
How long could it take to apply for the line to be ADSL capable. I have just installed a line at home and would like it to be ADSL enabled, but does that not mean I also have to get stuck to Telkom's ADSL packages if I am to do a self install????

no, SEPARATE ISSUE! You just ask for your line to be ADSL upgraded. Please stae to telkom You want the SELF INSTALL OPTION! Repeat it to be safe and very sure they understand!
 
It normally takes 4-6 weeks, just depends on the ports at the exchange. Had mine within 3 weeks after applying for dsl self install.
 
phone 10219 eveyday or every second day with your ref no and bug them , mine line got trasferred in 1 week xD

Mine was installed by Telkom in 4 days. Their techies in my area obviously had nothing to do, so they came around quickly!
