ADSL internet problems in my area?

I stay on the East Rand in Benoni, and im having problems with my adsl.

It is extremely slow, and just disconnects every 5 minutes. The dsl link light on my premium combo marconi router starts blinking. I dont know if this could be a line problem or maybe something in the area. Im def not an expert on this. lol.

I am using the connection as bridged, and it is normally quite fast, but i have been experiencing problems since yesterday. I have to wait a few moments and then connect again. its fine for a few minutes and the same thing happens again, its so frustrating.

The download speed is 2.07kps, which i believe is very slow.

Any help on this would be so appreciated!

Well I'm no expert, so cant help you finding a problem, but I stay just outside Benoni, and its all good here. Only thing I get is sometimes between 7 and 9 in the evenings, adsl disconnects, and after about 5-10 minutes, its all good again.
