ADSL latency

Hey guys, I was just wondering what kind of latency you guys get. Earlier I noticed that MyADSL was kinda laggy, so I started pinging random sites to see what my latency was like.

I'm on 192kbs ADSL with Mweb normal 3gig account.

Okay, firstly I found that telkom and saix are by far the fastest, I get about 23ms from them.

Mweb, MyADSL and most local sites are about 73ms

International varies a lot, I get like 330 with bbc.co.uk, 420 with gamespy.com, 390 with Cnet.com and 335 with travelpunk.com

What should we actually get with international sites? I wonder what they get to when they ping us. Also, it can't be right that Telkom is like 3x faster than the rest of SA.

Yeah, I was lagging earlier but things seem fine now. Earlier I got like 300ms when I pinged MyADSL, but it's okay now.

Telkom sites have a better ping because your adsl connection sits on the Telkom network, SAIX. Non SAIX sites will be slower because they have to travel through more connections.

well there was a guy from england on the bf 2 servers last night and he was pinging at around 350-450

on a 2m line
