Hello all,

Can any other Web Africa subscribers comment on how long it took for your ADSL line to become activated after getting approval through Web Africa?

My line was approved on Thursday and they say it can take up to 4 weeks.

Would just like to get a clearer picture on when I can expect my line to get activated (and why should it take 4 weeks to flip a switch?)

Thanks, cheers.

My line took about 2-3 weeks to become active.

It depends on how much ports are available and the time Telkom actually takes to activate the function from their end...
Remember, any ISP other than Telkom still needs to request activation of the line through to Telkom. Once Web Africa requested activation from their side it is up to Telkom to physically assign your line with a DSL port at the Telkom exchange in your area.

I can assure you that Web Africa is worth the wait!!!!!

Anyone know how long it takes these days? Does it still take up to 3 weeks?

It took 5 working days for my ADSL Line to become active. Quite good I think. From what I understand it's Telkom who activates the ADSL line, so doesnt matter who's your ISP.
