ADSL line connected to wrong exchange?

Hi Guys,

Odd problem on my end, according to "http://www.broadbandstats.co.za/" my adsl line has been connected to the exchange in the middle of PMB which is roughly 4.5Km from where i live. There is an exchange less than 650m from me, which i am not sure why i haven't been connected to this as last i checked there were ports available.

Due to the distance from the exchange i am unable to upgrade my line to anything above a 1Mbps and even now i get random disconnects. Is anyone aware of a procedure to move the adsl to a different and hopefully closer exchange?

It is dependant on the cable layout in your area. You are asking for a 'foreign feed' that Telkom won't offer you unless you pay them to do it. And it will cost you plenty.
