ADSL line doesnt work when it rains

This is really strange every time it rains our adsl line keeps disconnecting and when it finally stops raining everything seems to be normal again, ive checked and the dsl light on the router goes off when it rains and takes a while to come back again and it keeps happening

So any suggestions how to solve this? thanx

Yep, cable faulty. Be very specific when logging your call or else their call centre will test your line immediately and find no fault and close the fault report!!!

i have exactly the same problem, will call telkom this week... will they charge me for fixing the problem or for a technician coming out to see to it?

No charge if it is a line fault.

We had the same problem, as well as a crackly voice line. After a long saga, the problem was close to home as I suspected - the box on the pole had its door open, exposing the terminals to the elements. Once the connections were cleaned up and door closed, all fixed up. But it took a couple of complaints and our pursuing the telkom technicians around Benoni in the car to get them to our place!
