ADSL Line dropping, extremely bad Ping spikes etc

Well my line is near useless, latency spikes, line dropping etc.

Anyone else getting the same sort of problem? I'm in Pretoria East.

having the exact same problem. line is down, pings are high, timeouts. ONl thing i can seem to do for a bit is tunnel through a local server and even then it only lasts for about a minute. im in jhb north btw
 
can hardly surf with IS have gone bonkers now, well at least i have 3 backbone choices - saix seems unaffected.

Seems lines in Centurion have gone bonkers too. Extreme spikes and constant drop synching.. Telkom thanks you for your business.
 
I have been having issues for the past week. Same symptoms. Durbanville, Cape Town region.
 
Somewhat glad there are others, increases the chances of it actually getting fixed :(

Tried Webafrica Shaped/Unshaped and Telkominternet Shaped, none made a difference. But since the line is dropping it can only be hardware on telkoms side.

I'm guessing someone sneezed on some button
 
It's called the "Initiate LOL" button. They press everytime they want to piss of their loyal slaves errrr.. i mean customers.
 
Dont know if you guys got it sorted but it was still horrible this morning when i tried (8:00am). im with WebAfrica IS account
 
My line was fine for pretty much the entire day and now it started doing the dropping again. :(
 
My line's being doing this for the last while, I have absolutely no idea what's causing it and it really sucks :( I suspect it's related to an unstable supply of electricity in my case, but I don't really have any way to check. Has anyone tried UPSing their router to see if that helps? Don't want to spend hundreds of bucks getting a UPS if it won't make any difference :( Even though it happens pretty much constantly, there are some times when it works perfectly for several hours at a stretch. The only 'symptom' I've noticed is that it sometimes drops at the same time the phone rings (usually when I'm in a highly important game of starcraft :D.) However, this isn't the only time it happens by any means. Can anyone help? :(

Edit: I'm near Durban, dunno if that makes any difference
