Hi there, please advise. I tried different connections....lead from telkom into micro filter that splits to telkom landline and ADSl router. The internet connection keeps dropping.

the telkom wall socket has two female inserts. I tried using one insert for telkom voice line, the other a small lead, then a filter and added another lead from the adsl port on filter to router, same issue. i get a connectiion on DSL and then eventually drops

When i disconnect the telkom line completely, all good, DSL connection remains

Please advise

The filter is for the PHONE not the Router.

The Router needs to have a direct connection to the socket.

In the case of the splitter it's just got the POTS filter built-in for the phone and gives the Router an unfiltered port.

Which is why it disconnects (probably when someone calls or picks up the phone) because you are doing it wrong.

If you have more than one analog phone EACH phone needs to get a filter attached.

Hi could be the adsl filter but if you are using adsl only no filter is needed. add picture of what you are doing The filter needs to go between telkom jack and the analogue the adsl router can go strait into the telkom jack either side will not make a difference.

No, it normally looks like this. Most home users only have 1 wall socket, so this makes it possible to apply the filter to both:
