ADSL Line porting to which ISP ? (Thinking Axxess/Afrihost)

Which is the best regarding getting faults and things sorted out with Telkom on your behalf?

From what I've heard - Crystal Web :) My line is with Web Africa and I haven't had any issues. I rather deal with them than holding on the phone to Telkom for an hour.

How has Web Africa dealt with line fault situations ?

well it would be nice if some of the guys floating around these forums would chime in. running a search in this forums doesn't always help

When ever I have had a problem, I would report the fault via a support ticket from the Customer Zone and they would log a ticket with Telkom (20 min - 1 hour in my experience). I have also managed a friends account at Afrihost and when they have had a problem, I did the same thing on Afrihost's Client Zone and they have logged a ticket with Telkom (Usually within 30 minutes or so).

In my experience I would say either of them would do however I am not sure that Web Africa allows you to sign up for just the line. Try contacting Crystal Web on live chat from their website and asking them if they will keep your line for you. The benefit is their live chat is on 24h/day (except weekends where it's limited hours), and you can chat to them and they can tell you exactly what is going on with your line in real time. Web Africa and Afrihost are a little slow generally.

what management options do u have

port reset etc..

in that way what is better WA or AH,

Yeah thanks, I've also been chatting to the support at Crystal Web. I've heard good things about them, also when dealing with Telkom over line fault issues.

You can reset your port and view line stats on both WA and AH, so no difference there. The other line management features have been taken away on both due to Telkom changing a few things.
