Hi.

I have question regarding Telkom ADSL lines that some of you guys might be able to answer.

Say I have a 20Mbps line and 2 10Mbps ISP accounts. I would like to create 2 PPPoE sessions at the same time, resulting in 1 connection to ISP a and 1 connection to ISP b.

Would this be possible, and is this permitted by Telkom?

Any feedback will be appreciated.

Yes it is possible and permitted.
Do note that you can however only use one router at a time, so you'll have to do all PPPoE sessions through a single router.

Excellent!! Thanx for the info. I thought that I will be using one router as there will only be one physical line.

How would you use 2 accounts on one router at the same time?

The router dials up one account.
Then you would dial up another account from your computer.

Like this on the PC side.

Then on the router side you must use bridging mode, only some routers have it.

Or have the router in complete bridge mode then all the connections needs to be dialed. Not ideal if you plan to use wifi on mobile devices as they will need to dial a pppoe connection too if you want internet on them.

Or if you are tech savvy and don't have an PC that can always be on, get a mikrotik router, then you will be able to dial both connections, and you will be able to set up how traffic should be split

We will be doing this the Mikrotik way. Much more control. Confirmed with TelkomZA that this can be done and how to get 20 Mbps ADSL2+.
