ADSL line speeds Telkom

I am not sure if this has been discussed already on this forum, I visited our local Telkom office in Nelspruit to upgrade my 384k line to a 1 gig line. The Telkom rep then said I could only upgrade to a 4 gig or 10 gig line, is this correct?

No. You probably confused them by asking for 1 GIG. It's 1024kbps or "1 MEG"

Ask them to upgrade you to 512kbps (which then automatically be upped to 1024kbps).

Thanks you a more than likely right, will have a bash at the upgrade again tomorrow and attempt to put megs in the place of my gigs LOL

I got mine upgraded today. I phoned them up, asked for the upgrade, they said it would take 2-3 days, then it was done in the next 5 minutes.

Now if only I could actually download stuff at full line speed.
