ADSL Line Speeds

Just an observation that I have noticed here at our office, all our ADSL lines are supposed to be 1MB ~ 4MB. When I check the line statistics on the router all my lines are set back to 640K.

This could explain the crappy speeds we have been having of late. We are now contacting Telkom for an explanation.

I would suggest that users check there router stats as well.

my 4mbit line is stable as a rock. Keeps 4096K all the time at SNR of around 20-25 *Rarely drops below 18*

I just wish telkom will up the upload speed to 512K maybe :>

Napalm where abouts in the country do you live? JHB/Cape Town etc.
If possible could you tell me which exchange you are conncetd to and if you know how far (distance wise) you are from your exchange.

I have 4mb DSL and I am getting disconnected all the time. Sometimes as much as 35+ times a day with the disconnects getting worse around 6pm-10pm. If at all possible I want to stay at 4mb however I ight have to move down to 2mb or even 1mb if these disconnects keep happening.
