ADSL Line Syncs but LCP doesn't initialze

I ordered an ADSL line.

My router Netgear ADSL line syncs and on the router status page reads as
Modem
ADSL Firmware Version A2pB023k.d20k_rc2
Modem Status Connected
DownStream Connection Speed 27099 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 1207 kbps
VPI 8
VCI 35


However I have put in ISP details but when I start up the router it gets stuck at LCP initialize. Any idea why?

Is there something else Telkom has to do on their side. I suspect so as I ordered a 4Mbps line?

Do you know how long it takes after this?

Friday after 17:00 was probably the worst time to do it.
