ADSL line testing?

If you mean check that your exchange supports Adsl, then yes there is a way but I don't know how much telkom updates it tho...
Check:
Telkom Adsl Page
And select "Check whether your exchange is DSL enabled" from the left side.
Oh and it doesn't work well with firefox

The initial procedure for testing if a line will support ADSL involves placing test equipment on the line and testing certain characteristics. As far as i know this can only be done from the exchange side - as i suspect the line actually has to be disconnected partially. So unless telkom gives you the keys to their exchange - i doubt you could do this yourself.feverdj said:
The testing they do on the client side is purely a case of plug in the router and check that it connects to the DSLAM that has already been installed. And if it doesn't the techie will probably throw up his hands and say "you cant get adsl" i don't think its much more complex than that... you might get luck and he will call the faults unit to check your line - but that would then mean you have a line fault and it does not directly relate to the ADSL
