Hi

Is it possible to use a local only isp to connect to the Counterstrike Source Gaming Servers.

I think you will have a problem with Steam authenticating but if you use routesentry and play on SGS you will only use a small amount of international bandwith to authenticate and the rest will come off your local only.

I have tried, what i did before was to logon using my normal account then open cs. once it was open i disconnected and connected my local only account 5 min into the game steam threw up a error message saying i was not logged on and shutdown.

Ok here is what you need to do. Set your router to Bridge mode so it does not create your connection. Download and install RouteSentry (Follow the guide). Once that is done you will have two connection running simultaneously and RouteSentry will send your international traffic through one account and your local traffic through another account. This is how my setup work's and I play CSS so it definitely works.

I know this thread is old, but I had a couple questions about it:
1) How much international bandwidth does this method use?
2) What are the ping rates like on local servers?
3) Do you just manually enter the IP's of some of the local servers or do any local ones show up in the automatic searching?

Thanks
