ADSL modem and microfilter

Hi all,

I'm planning on buying a d-link 2540u.
Are these any good? Attached to a laptop running Ubuntu 10.10.
It's within my price range.

Also I see I need a microfilter to use both telephone and ADSL concurrently.
Where do I get these from?

If you've got a newish laptop with Wireless N, then you might benefit from buying a newer D-Link ADSL modem+router, like the DSL-2750U.

Yes, you would require a filter + splitter to use both ADSL & telephone concurrently.

Usually the splitter filter is included with the ADSL modem. If not, then just buy one for like R40 at a Telkom Direct shop.
The splitter filter was included with this D-Link DSL-2750U that my colleague bought at iKonicIT. I was really impressed with that package's contents, since it used a 3 point electric plug, and not a 2 point one where you'd need an adapter.
