ADSL Modem comparrison

Hi, I am trying to decide between the two modems:

TD-W8961N (I have had this one (white) before, cant recall any issues. sadly it got lit by a bolt)
OR
TP-LINK TL-WR940N (black) ( i have read bad reviews of the wireless range and performance)

I am not sure of the D-Links, but i was referred to some of them here....

Please help.... i was looking to spend 350 to 600 max. I cant see myself buying an expensive one because they get fried and then u have no warranty anyways so its really silly.

Take a look at the Tenda D301 ADSL router (~R320) from Scoop Distribution/RussAL-PC's/GeeWiz etc. It uses the Broadcom BCM6318 chipset which performs really well on long noisy telephone lines. The wireless range on most of the Tenda products is also very good. It also has some rudimentary internal lightning protection although this would probably not survive a large surge.
