HI there!

I have found an ADSL modem that CyberDyneSA Stock, I would like your opinions and input on this modem that I would like to buy. It is the first of its kind that I have seen and I would really need, and appreciate all of your help! :) ...please

ACEEX ADSL-PRO/2 Modem PCI Adapter
Conexant Chipset.

If possible could you please help me with:
Latency (Local and International)
Download Speeds (384k ADSL Package)
Stability.

I do realise due to PCI that it has some Disadvantages, but my budget Doesn't go as high as the Ethernet and I really dont like USB, I am into Gaming and would like to know if this modem would be worth while buying.

Thank you

Dane

since its PCI, it should have the lowest possible latency. I dont see how this product would be any different than an ethernet router if you dont need the features and on a budget.

The question is, how much cheaper is this modem than for instance a cheap router?

Whats the price?

ACEEX ADSL-PRO/2 Modem PCI Adapter 1 YEAR Conexant Chipset. Retail Box.
R 295.00
From CyberDyne.

Another Question

What exactly is:
"POTS Splitter"
"Interoperable with Alcatel's DSLAM and most of DSLAM"
Does this mean I can run a server pc and have 2 different ADSL Accounts Running at the same time, and does PPPoE play a big Role?

I don't like it.

From the documentation it seems to be controllerless i.e some of it's functionality is performed in software by the driver.

Okay probably not as bad as a 56K Winmodem but still annoying enough for me not to buy or recommend it.

Depending on your PC it could impact performance of your 3D shooter if playing online.

I agree with tibby.dude, remmember that cyberdyne quote all prices ex-vat. I have heard of external ethernet modems for around 400-500. Wait maybe another month
