ADSL - Modem Installation

Hi

Ok, so I applied for ADSL on Saturday (22 Nov). I got a phone call this morning from Telkom saying my current fixed line was converted to DSL.

I need to now go into a Telkom office and collect my modem. I requested for the self installation to save on the +/- R500.

I have never done this before but what exactly are they going to give me?

Is the modem and router in one box?
I will be getting getting an Wifi enabled modem by the way.

What will go where?

How is the configuration of the modem done?
- ISP Account Details (Usrname + Password)
- Security

One last question please:-
How much are the Wifi modems? What about quality?
Would it be cheaper if I went to a place like Incredible Connection to purchase a Wifi modem?

I'd guess somewhere around R1000, not sure though.
But you will be getting one for free cos you signed a contract...

I did not sign a contract. I do not like being locked down to paying R199 for 1GB

OK quick question i got line installed and i never took contract and i never took Modem how come i get an ADSL installation and then a separate installation ??
