Hi

I have a few questions.

I see most routers have builtin software for dhcp firewall etc.
I however would like to manage my connection via PPPoE on linux
so that I can setup a proxy and squid and dhcpd on my linuxserver.

I had look at the Billion 5102 ADSL Modem/Router with 4-Port Switch, ADSL 2+ can I basically turn of all the builtin software and use it as a straight modem. I would also like to know if I do buy a Modem/Router with WiFi can I manage the WiFi via Linux ?

Then micro filters, is the telkom one okay and how much does it cost. If there is another manufactures of micro filter where do I buy it.

Regards

All Billion products are web-based management so you can control the WiFi from a web browser.

I got my micro filter for free from Telkom.... Does its job. (I think they are R48.00)

I take it that you are in the modem already.
click quick start >>>>> run wizard
blah blah blah
then at quick start ISP connection type, select bridge mode
