Been dealing with Telkom since February before we moved down to Cape Town. First they tell me there is no infrastructure then they tell me there is no ports available. Today they advise me that there is a project to install lines in our complex and they don't know when this will happen (might be this month or next year), the project is still 0% completed. Cant they connect you on a different exchange? I did see when we moved down here around the corner fiber cables just laying there gathering dust and water, I might as well install everything myself? I am currently using a wireless connection that is slow, unstable connections and more down than up.

What do you guys suggest I do?

I had the same issue when I first applied, was told that there are no ports available. Called back the next day, was approved and had installation done a week or two afterwards.

I wish I was that lucky. We keep calling, log tickets online, then after 2 weeks we get a reply saying the address we provided can't be found. Maybe I should draw them a picture and hopefully they will find my place.

They also told me they couldn't find my address and asked if I had a neighbours landline number so they could check the area and exchange.

That's the thing no one else has Internet access or Telkom lines. My neighbour's told me that my unit is the only one in the complex that can get Telkom installed they just need to activate me. Will go into a store and try my luck again.

Ah crap, I see that someone has/is busy with fibre roll outs in the area. Will be interesting to see who it is and what services will be offered.
