I keep on loosing network connection every few hours . They checked the logs and it indicated that it was a port error and they reset the ports but still no joy. What happens is even though my router stays synched (the green light stays solid) there is no network access - a yellow triangle appears over the network icon. I then have to restart the router and then I am good to go for another few hours. Does anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this? Has this happened to anyone else? I dont want to accuse my isp by suggesting that they are dropping the line to limit my downloads during the weekend, but it has occurred to me.

I have read from previous posts that if the modem/router is having a heat problem then this can occur. Give us more info, perhaps another forumite has the same model as you and can provide further insite as to the nature of the problem. Also posting the area you live in can narrow things down :)

Welcome to the community Captain :D

Hi

thanks for the welcome its good to be aboard:)! I live on the newlands/ rondebosch border and I use a Tenda D840R router that was supplied by cybersmart............. I can see that they are not too popular this month... I probably would have gotten "migrated" as well if my connection didn't keep on dropping - so maybe its a good thing!.
