ADSL not syncing

So last week sunday 25 Jan had a lightning storm in the area. Adsl goes off. No sync

Phoned telkom twice, eventually technician comes in on Sunday 1 Feb unannounced while I am 50km away. Tell him not around and explain the problem. He dissappears and closes the fault log as restored.

It's not. I have changed the router and installed a new adsl filter bought from telkom. Still no sync. Have yet another fault log opened.

Any ideas? Perhaps something wrong in the telkom box outside. I don't see anything wrong from where u plug the adsl cable in.
 
Blown port at the exchange perhaps?
The phone line still actually has a dial tone? its not completely dead?
 
I had the same on 29th January port a exchange was blown and my router. I only discovered the router after line fixed and a helpful Telkom guy pitched and tested.
 
If the phone line is ok then the port is faulty ,
The old DSLAMs are wired from the line through the port on the DSLAM to the cable leaving the exchange .

Thanks for that. Now to try and get that message to telkom. What a useless bunch!
