Hi All

Below are 2 screenshots, sorry just a link, will post actual images shortly

The first one is of my adsl line stats on 1mb last year.
Operational mode is gdmt, this use to give me a lot of crc errors all the time.

The 2nd one is since the 4th February, my operational mode has changed
Operation mode is g.dmt.bisplus, this gives me no crc issues and has only changed recently however my line is not syncing correctly at 512000 and 1024000, it is slightly off.

Is g.dmt.bisplus adsl2?
My attenuational and snr values have also become slightly better.
So i take this is good news?

Maybe now i can try 2mb again and see how reliable it is?

44dB attenuation is more or less 6 meg. For reference, I am 62.5dB attenuation and have a stable 3meg line.

yeah but i have tried 2mb already and my line couldnt handle it.
Will have to test it.

Currently with mweb, but other isps like webafrica are a lot cheaper now

Your line has been switched to an ADSL2+ DSLAM. The speeds that are slightly off is normal for ADSL2+. You can try 2Mb or 4Mb, it should work with your line stats.

On a slight off topic note.

I noticed that in the first week of February the IP ranges of my clients using TelkomSA changed from 41.x.x.x to 105.x.x.x.

I wonder if they upgraded to ADSL2+ as well?

THe change in IP range caused quite a few GMail retrieval problems via Outlook.

They migrated their network (but not to adsl2+ ;) )
