Hi

A collegue of mine is down in SA for a year and needs to get an uncapped adsl package.

He is however not an S.A citizen and does not have a bank account
He is renting at an apartment that does not currently have a landline

What is the easiest way to get him setup with wireless internet in his apartment that does not require a direct debit from an SA account and that does not tie him down to a contract?

I would recommend he go to a Telkom shop and find out what his options are for the line rental part. As for the ISP that shouldn't be an issue, most accept credit cards for payment.

8ta prepaid? 60+60 goes for R1900 IIRC

Or must it be a fixed-line?

He is currently using a cell c data card, but he seems to use these up quickly. Then we need to buy another and rica all over again etc etc hence now looking for an uncapped package.

wait, what? Why RICA all over again? Why not just load airtime on an already existing SIM?

Or is he busy with shady stuff? ;) :p

iBurps is also another option though...

But, as Zoidberg pointed out, it won't harm to go visit a Telkom Shoppe and chat to a consultant there.

Zoidnerg? I resent that :p

I was pleasantly surprised actually how helpful the guys are at our Telkom shop, that is if you ever get to the front of the queue.
