Hey everyone,
I'm doing a little bit of research into some packet loss we've been experiencing over the past month.
I play World or Warcraft on Crushridge in the US. The guild I'm in has several other South Africans in it. Over the past couple of weeks we've been suffering intermittent and ENORMOUS latency spikes. WoW would disconnect every 5 to 10 minutes, and then suddenly everything would be fine.
We originally thought it was the server, since it happened to all of us at the same time, however closer investigation seems to indicate that it only affects us South Africans.
We all use various account types. We have people on Imaginet (SAIX) MWeb (who knows) shaped, unshaped and VPN. EVERYONE lags at exactly the same time and for exactly the same length of time.
What I'd like to know is if anyone else has experienced any intermittent packet loss or high intrnational latency over the past few weeks.
Also, I don't know how to fix this. If I call my ISP (Imaginet) they refer it to SAIX and SAIX refuse to do anything about it without a tracert and (you guessed it!) when they get the tracert they say everything is fine and there's no problem. Any advice?
