What is allowed in an ADSL password?
The username and password you receive from an ISP, to connect your modem to their network normally takes the format of <somename>@wadsl or <somename>@afrihost.co.za, eached paired with a password. This username and password combination is then entered into the modem's control panel and you can then connect with your browser or whatever.
So, up till now, I have always received a password from the ISP. The password has always been relatively short, and consisted only of letters and numbers. Never #)$*!_$@| and so forth. Are these special characters allowed?
From what I have been able to find on the web, they can cause problems but I have not found any definite rules. Can they cause problems to connect?
