Adsl Performance improvements?

Up to the beginning of the week my Adsl service always had a speed of 2megs between 6pm and 9am and about 1,3negs beween 8am and 6pm.I assume that the lower performance is due to noise.
Now the performance is 2megs whole day.Is this due to to reduced consumers or improvements in the infrastructure?

how do you know it wasn't due to shaping?
 
The shapine may be applied by the ISP but this is on the router stats wher a while ago it was showing as 1.2 and now it shows as 2.0.
 
I had a similar thing one of Telkoms lines broke so they replaced a long section of cable, the next day my line was syncing at 12mb/s where before it was at around 9mb/s. I was pretty stable at 8mb/s before the line was broken.

I now have a very stable 10mb/s connection.

Maybe something like this happened in your area or maybe Telkom upgraded something.
