ADSL Port Forwarding: Problems with international visitors?

Hi,

I have a webserver running on ADSL and I am having problems with international users (UK) that can't connect to the site.

There is a router which is port-forwarding port 1030 to port 80 of the webserver. I am using a DynDNS name to track the IP.

I and fellow South African users can connect but I have 2 UK users which can't connect to port 1030. They can ping the DynDNS name but can't connect to port 1030 at all.

SO, my question is why?

Why can I connect but UK vistors can't?

Is it a problem with:
- The UK ISP blocking the ports?
- The South Africa ISP blocking the ports ?(Tested on both Axxess and MWEB)
- SAIX or whoever is controlling the link FROM international TO local lines?


I have had UK visitors successfully visiting a different site and this one but that was before November 1st - related?!?!?!

Any help is appreciated. This is truly a weird problem?!?!?

My guess is that the port blocking is at their end - either their ISP or their firewall. Any way you can try running the whole thing on port 80?

I guess I could run it on port 80 but port 1030 worked before and another site used 1003 and 1005. Very weird.....

tsk tsk, those ports are shaped. All data going out of your router would be subject to shaping.

"those" ports? Which ones? The 1030, 1003, 1005 ones or the "common" ones - 80. 8080. 443?
